Idunnu Münch | mezzo-soprano
Born and educated in Munich, Germany, Idunnu Münch made her Salzburg Festival debut in 2013. Debuts followed at Staatsoper Stuttgart, Verbier Festival, English National Opera (later becaming a Harewood Artist), the BBC Proms, and at Teatro alla Scala, Milan. Further debuts followed at Komische Oper Berlin, The Royal Opera London, Grange Park Opera, and the Bregenz Festival, to be followed by her company debuts at Luzerner Theater, and Staatsoper Hannover in 2025.
Idunnu Münch’s concert repertoire ranges from Bach to Wallen. The mezzo-soprano has performed with BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Britten Sinfonia, Camerata Salzburg, Münchner Philharmoniker, Orchestra del Teatro alla Scala di Milano, Philharmonia Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, and Wiener Philharmoniker and has sung under the baton of conductors including Ivor Bolton, Sylvain Cambreling, Sian Edwards, Titus Engel, Fabio Luisi, Yutaka Sado, Esa-Pekka Salonen, and Franz Welser-Möst.
